The inside story of a secret police investigation into a human trafficking gang. Filmed over three years, in Britain, Brazil and Europe, specialist officers try to take down the gang's elusive leader. Chapter 1: Begins with a covert police unit being tipped off to an organised crime group behind the trafficking, and explores how large-scale surveillance teams and undercover officers are employed to gather evidence on the organisation. Chapter 2: The police visit brothels to meet the women who are being exploited. The women recount shocking tales of abuse, but not one of them is willing to give evidence, leaving the detectives with only one option - trying to catch the man behind the trafficking scheme in the act. However, when he proves too elusive, they consider whether one of his associates may be the weak link in the organisation. Chapter 3: The head of the organised crime group flees to Spain, but British police are soon collaborating with their Spanish counterparts to ensure he does not escape justice. Before they can strike they need to prove the human trafficking case against him in the UK, and do it before he moves on to Brazil, where they will be unable to touch him. Plus, the story of a woman who was previously trafficked to the UK, and is now so desperate for money, she is considering going through it again.
